Microsoft windows server 2003 server is manufactured by microsoft and is the sucessor of windows server 2000 and is more scalable and better in performance than windows 2000 server.It was released on April 24,2003.Windows server 2003 has the version number 5.2 and it is said that it is the cornerstone of windows server system line of business server products.Windows server 2003 is also reffered to as Win2K3.It is a server operating system which is very capable and is good in performance.

IIS - IIS is a a set of information based services for the servers which are using microsoft windows.IIS was previously called Internet Information Server but now it is called as Internet Information services.After Apache HTTP server the world’s second web server which is most popular in terms of overall websites is none other but IIS server.According to netcraft IIS server has served 35.39% of all websites.The servers currently include FTP, SMTP, NNTP, and HTTP/HTTPS.
